Iran’s ‘No Prior Appointment’ on way to Vancouver filmfest

Iran’s ‘No Prior Appointment’ is to vie at the Vancouver Int’l filmfest in Canada.

Iranian feature ‘No Prior Appointment’ has been scheduled to take part in the 2022 Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) in Canada.

Directed by Behrouz Shoeibi, the film will go on screen at the competition program of the 41st edition of the Canadian event.

The film tells the story of Yasmin, a woman who was six, the same age as her son, when immigrated with her family to Berlin. Now she has to come back to Iran due to her father’s death.

Her son is suffering from autism, which makes it difficult for her to travel. Yasamin, who has no understanding of her father gets surprised by the legacy he has left her.

She achieves a new understanding of humanity and death during her short travel to Iran.

‘No Prior Appointment’ has already participated in a number of global events, including the Moscow International Film Festival in Russia.

The annual VIFF includes “some of the best cinema from around the globe, talks, conferences, live performances and other unique events that celebrate film and film culture,” an online submission platform reads.

This year’s edition of the fest, set for September 29-October 07, will also host Iran and France co-production ‘Solar Eclipse’.
